What is Committee?

Each local area has a committee of adults who believes in the mission of Young Life: to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith. You'll find adults from all different backgrounds, careers and churches, including lots of moms and dads who care about kids.

The committee, comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders, provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral support for the local Young Life team.

Ask your area staff person for a local list, and feel free to call these folks with your questions at any time.

An Essential Foundation

Effective committees are the backbone for Young Life in each local school.  Young Life is sustained by adults serving on a local school/community committee.  In more than 700 communities across the US and around the world, more than 11,000 adults meet once every month in small groups to help YL move forward in that area.  They are unseen and often unknown to most of the students they serve, but the committee is the foundation for successful outreach ministry in the high schools.

Currently, in the Charlotte Metro Area, we have school committees based around each high school.  Those committees help support the ministry going on at that school.  Our goal is to reach out to many more of the 75,000 students in Charlotte and see their lives transformed forever.

If you are interested in serving on a adult committee please contact us!  We look forward to serving alongside of you as we reach high school students in the Charlotte area.
